Our opening Scripture reading comes from Psalm 138, which says, “Yahweh will accomplish what concerns me; O Yahweh, Your lovingkindness endures forever; Do not fail the works of Your hands.”

Our reading of the Old Testament comes from Nehemiah 9:26–31, which says of God’s work toward His people in the Exodus, “Nevertheless, in Your abundant compassion You did not make a complete destruction of them or forsake them, For You are a gracious and compassionate God.”

Our reading of the New Testament comes from Matthew 14:13–21, which says, “Now when it was evening, the disciples came to Him and said, ‘This place is desolate and the hour is already late; so send the crowds away, that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves.’”

Our Bible study comes from Romans 11, where Paul states regarding Israel, “I say then, did they stumble so as to fall? May it never be! But by their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous.”
