Experience Cross-Cultural Missions at Wayumi Retreat

The Wayumi (“why-you-me”) retreat experience led by veteran church planters will give you a bird’s-eye-view of the still-unreached people groups of the world. It will open your eyes to what it takes to reach these groups.

• Discover what God is doing today in reaching unreached people groups through His church.
• Encounter what missionaries experience as they teach unreached people groups.
• Struggle with the major challenges of cross-cultural ministry: culture and language.
• Realize all the ministries involved in taking the gospel to isolated people groups.

This program is for the whole church to experience. You do not have to intend to join Ethonos360 and serve cross-culturally.

Registration

Register online

• We have 20 spots reserved for us. At least one other church will share the weekend with us.
• Select “Wayumi Retreat (weekend) All Ages.”
• Then select “October 25-27, 2024.”
• Finally select “Liberty Bible Church.”
• Complete your registration.
• Make payment to Mark or Melissa, who then will pay by check once we arrive at Wayumi.
• Registrants will receive a confirmation email.

Schedule

The weekend retreat runs from supper on Friday through lunch on Sunday.

• Friday: arrival between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m., supper with a session afterwards
• Saturday: breakfast, lunch, and supper with sessions throughout the day
• Sunday: breakfast and lunch with a closing session after breakfast

What to Bring

• Linens for twin beds or a sleeping bag, along with a towel.
• Pillows are provided, but please bring a pillowcase.
• Toiletries
• Clothes & sneakers

Lodging

Lodging is in dorm-style apartments with twin-size beds. Participants should bring a sleeping bag or twin-size sheets and blankets, pillow case, and towel. Individual restroom and shower facilities are located in common areas.

All buildings have heat and air-conditioning as well as wi-fi.

Travel

The Wayumi campus is located in north-central Pennsylvania, about 7.5 hours driving-time from our church building. You can drive yourself, and carpooling may also be available.

Meals

Meals are served cafeteria style in the dining hall. The menu consists of North American fare and is given rave reviews by past attendees. Those with medically necessary diets should communicate their needs prior to arrival. If you have significant dietary needs, you may need to bring supplemental food. Fresh fruits and vegetables are offered at every meal.

They are able to accommodate Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free for an additional charge of $10.
