DESCRIPTION:Our opening Scripture reading comes from Luke 24:50–53\, which records our Lord’s ascension: “And He led them out as far as Bethany\, and lifting up His hands\, He blessed them. And it happened that while He was blessing them\, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.” \nOur reading of the Old Testament comes from Nehemiah 3:15–24\, which says\, “Shallum the son of Col-hozeh\, the official of the district of Mizpah\, repaired the Spring Gate. He built it\, covered it and made its doors stand with its bolts and its bars\, and the wall of the Pool of Shelah at the king’s garden as far as the steps that descend from the city of David.” \nOur reading of the New Testament comes from Matthew 9:18–26\, which says\, “While He was saying these things to them\, behold\, a synagogue official came and was bowing down before Him\, and said\, ‘My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her\, and she will live.’” \nOur Bible study comes from Ecclesiastes 8\, which says\, “Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed quickly\, therefore the hearts of the sons of men among them are given fully to do evil.” \nOur congregational songs will include the following: \n\nCrown Him with Many Crowns (HG #129)\nRelentless Love (HG #148)\nI Lay My Sins on Jesus (HG #269)\nBlessed Assurance\, Jesus Is Mine (HG #403)\nNow Blessed Be the Lord Our God (HG #444)\n\nOur benediction comes from Romans 15:33\, which says\, “Now may the God of peace be with you all. Amen.” \nAll ages are welcome to attend and participate. We have an area for parents to work with needy children as well as space for nursing mothers.
